Promote Peace, Sole Rep Of The Olu Of Warri to NNPC, Comr Collins Edema Tells Social Media Activists and Influencers in Warri

The Office of the Sole Representative To the Olu of Warri Liason to Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited , NNPCL, on Sunday organized a One day seminar for social media activists and influencers in Ugbori Community, Warri, with a focus on using social media to drive cultural and economic growth within Warri kingdom.

The event which was held at Otonloye Hall, Ugbori Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state, had over one hundred social media influencers from Warri kingdom in attendance.

Speaking during the seminar,the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to the NNPCL, Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, represented by Ben Eburajolo, said social media is a powerful tool that can be used to promote peace, resolve conflicts and engender economic prosperity in Warri.

Collins Edema while explaining the unintended consequences of social media activism, including blurring the lines between what should be shared publicly and what should be kept private called for reflection and reorientation.

He urged them to use their platforms promote dialogue and understanding, amplify marginalized voices, promote cultural heritage, encourage community development and bridge the political gap by actively participating in politics and governance.

Some of the participants who spoke described the program as apt and recommended the office to do more of such programs in the future.

Yemi Otuedon who spoke said” there’s need to promote and protect Warri Kingdom including the crown”.

On his part,President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduate NAIG,Esiatiegiwa Mino,called for “verification of information and information management before publishing”.

The Serminar ended with a peaceful decision to follow the path of peace and respect while using social media for positive advocacy.
