Policemen Deployed To End Protest In Delta
Videos circulating on social media reveal a state of chaos reported to be happening at Okpanam Road axis, Midwifery, in Asaba, Delta State capital.
One of the videos reveals a scene where policemen were firing into the air, while another video shows a group of people blocking the road with motorcycles.
In response to the flurry of questions concerning what is going in Asaba, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, stated on X that the officers were deployed to control a protest against a state task force.
He wrote, “They are policemen deployed to quell an ongoing protest against one of the State taskforce in Asaba pls.”
The protesters reportedly stormed the street after taskforce member allegedly killed a motorcycle rider.
