Delta State Commissioner,Bureau For Special Duties,Etacherure Ejiro Terry has paid visit to Ogheye-Eghoroke, Ogheye-Dimigun,Ocean Surge in Delta; Etacherure Inspects Level of Damages in the Communities.

Delta State Commissioner,Bureau For Special Duties,Etacherure Ejiro Terry has paid visit to Ogheye-Eghoroke, Ogheye-Dimigun,and other communities along the Benin River in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State,over the sudden destruction of properties caused by the Ocean Surge.

Led by the Honorable Member representing Warri North in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Fred Martins, Chairman Warri North LGA, Hon Festus Ashima accompanied by Permanent Secretary of the Bureau,Prince Greg Ejohwomu, Director State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr karo Ovemeso, and a host of others, were on ground to ascertain the level of damage caused by the high tide and overflow from the ocean . The surge ravaged the communities destroying properties and causing the inhabitants to flee from their homes.

Etacherure who commiserated with the members of community noted that the pain of any Deltan is troubles and worries for the Government of the State led by RT. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori,the Governor of Delta State hence the prompt visit to ascertain the level of damage.

The Bureau Commissioner further reiterated that the visit is at the behest of the Governor who deemed it necessary to send him to the communities to let them know that he cares for all, as all Deltans matter in his administration and ameliorate their plight.

The Ocean Surge which is gradually sinking the Communities started on Thursday 19th September 2024, It rolls in and out of the community,creates various pathways for itself as a result of the high tide from the sea and also leaves debris and other dirts littering across the community. communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State,over the sudden destruction of properties caused by the Ocean Surge.
