NO ELECTION IN WARD 2 ANIOCHA SOUTH

An urgent issue has surfaced in Aniocha South concerning the shortage of election materials provided by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC). The Labour Party councilorship Candidates in Ward 2, including Comr Ibolo Harrison, have raised concerns regarding the lack of essential materials for the scheduled election on the 13th of July.

With 17 polling units in Ward 2 alone, only 3 ballot papers were reportedly provided by the DSIEC, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among candidates and voters throughout Aniocha South. Additionally, reports have emerged from Ward 8 indicating a similar shortage of election materials.

The Councilorship candidates are appealing to the Delta State government, particularly Rt Hon Sheriff, to ensure the promise of a free and fair election is upheld. It is imperative that the concerns of the people are addressed promptly to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process. As a result, the situation has resulted a massive protest calling for the postponement of elections in Ward 2 of Aniocha South as no election was held.

The need for swift intervention and resolution cannot be overstated to restore confidence in the electoral process and uphold democratic ideals.
