Iwo-born Guinness World Record Breaker, Samson Ajao, Visits Oluwo

Samson Olalekan Ajao, the Iwo-born Guinness World Record breaker for his read-a-thon achievement, paid a visit to the Oluwo of Iwoland, Ọba (Dr) AbdulRosheed Adéwálé Akanbi, at his palace last Monday.

Ajao, who hails from Lao’s Compound in Iwo, received commendations from Oluwo for his dedication to revitalizing and encouraging a reading culture among Nigerian youth. Oba Akanbi praised Ajao’s commitment and effort in this significant record breaking journey.

Starting his read-a-thon on Monday, May 6, in Osogbo, Osun State, Ajao aimed to surpass the previous Guinness World Record held by Rybai Isakov, who had set a record of 124 hours of continuous reading aloud. Ajao impressively read for approximately 215 hours over 10 days, covering around 100 books.

During the visit, Oba Akanbi presented Ajao with a copy of his book, “Code of Kings,” as a token of appreciation and encouragement.
