INVASION OF OKERE COMMUNITY BY DAVID IWERE, OYIBO AWANİ AND THEIR COHORTS LED THUGS SPONSORED BY AYİRİ EMAMİ
This is to bring to the notice of the general public and especially law enforcement agencies of the wanton invasion and attacks on innocent citizens of Okere Community led by David Iwere, Austin Lori, Bojor Isaac who are currently facing a case of attempted assassination of our great King. These set of individuals are been sponsored by Ayiri Emami. Its obvious that Ayiri is doing everything within his power to make sure peace and tranquility is not achieved in the Community.
Hence, this invasion of Okere by Ayiri’s thugs which began earlier has caused a significant rise in criminal activities including theft, vandalism and assault. Residents have reported feelings unsafe and have expressed their frustration over the lack of swift action from security agencies. This ugly situation has brought about fear and uncertainty, posing a threat to the overall well being of Okere.
Mr. Ayiri Emami, the deposed Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom who has been using some thugs from Okere to antagonise and fight against the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR is still planning and carrying out more obnoxious and nefarious activities in Okere. It is no longer news that he sponsored David Iwere, Oyibo Awani, Austin Lori, Napoleon Cheke and others to assassinate the Olu of Warri on the 2nd of March, 2024 during His Majesty’s Royal visitation to Okere Community.
The assassination attempt on the Olu of Warri led to the arrest, detention and court trial of Napoleon Cheke, David Iwere, Oyibo Awani and Austin Lori. The four of them were granted bail by the Federal High Court in Warri. Hence, they stayed in prison for a week and some days before their boss Ayiri Emami was able to mobilize people to meet up with their bail requirement.
However, barely 24 hours after they were released from prison, they mobilized their other recalcitrant gang members who have been running from the police to invade Okere Community with guns and cutlasses. They ordered the locking of stores and chased law abiding indigenes from the Community. Their arrival in Okere caused serious tension and break down of law and order in the community.
Subsequently, the timely intervention of the Management Committe of Okere Community led by Mr. Fred Olomuro(Chairman) and Hon. Barr.David Oki(Secretary) and the newly constituted Interim Youth Executives of Okere Community savaged the bloodbath which would have occured. They immediately reported the case to A’Division police Station.
Thus, before the officers and men of the Police arrived Okere Community, Ayiri’s thugs with weapons ran away and escaped from the chase by patriotic indigenes of Okere. Ayiri’s thugs who ran away with their weapons includes; David Iwere, Lucky Esu, Godswill Edon, Noja Joshua(Owner of Jesse Schools),Solomon Temile, Alex Temile, Toju Awani, Temi Fregene, John , Tseyi Akurili, Isaac Bojor, Chinwe Temile, Austin Lori,Benson Awani, Omeyin Esu and others at large. These persons have been used as tools to terrorize law abiding indigenes of Okere Community. They were already declared wanted by security agencies as it relates to the failed assassination attempt on the Olu of Warri on Saturday 2nd March, 2024.
It is worthy of note to emphasise that the two major ring leaders in the attack on Okere are David Iwere and Oyibo Awani. İmmediately after their obnoxious activities in the community, they ran to Area Command in Warri to change the narrative for their egocentric benefits and to play a smart one on the security agencies.
We wish to call on the the security agencies, Delta State Government, and the Federal Government to rise up to their responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of law abiding citizens, and should do the needful in making sure Ayiri’s thugs who attempted to kill the Olu of Warri and cause problem in Okere Community are prosecuted accordingly.
