DTHA: House Committee On Youth, Sports Development Assures Readiness To Collaborate with Youths Development Ministry

Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Youths and Sports development has affirmed the readiness of the 8th Assembly to collaborate with the State government in the promotion of youths friendly programs in the State.

Chairman, House Committee on Youths and Sports development, Hon. Emmanuel Sinebe stated this at an interface between the committee members and the State Ministry of Youth development.

Hon. Emmanuel Sinebe while briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting said it was to ascertain the outcome of the first edition of the Delta State Youth parliament as well as to know the level of preparedness of the ministry towards ensuring the seamless process of the second edition of the program and other youth programmes in the State.

Hon. Sinebe flanked by members of the committee including Honourables Emeka Osamuta, Collins Egbetama, Alfred Martins and Festus Utuama, stressed that the committee was ready to collaborate with the ministry of youth development in other for them to perform optimally, urging them to continually interact with the committee.

The Lawmaker who noted that the Governor Oborevwori led administration through his MORE Agenda has the interest of youths, enjoined the Commissioner to explore explore every channel in ensuring youths in the State are carried along.

Commissioner for Youth development, Mr. Weyinmi Agbatimeyinro in his remarks, emphasized the important role of youths in the State and assured of more fruitful engagement with youths across the 25 local government areas of Delta State in line with the MORE Agenda of the State government.

While speaking on the second edition of the Delta State Youth parliament, Mr Agbatimeyinro asserted that the program which was initiated by the immediate past administration and sustained by the present administration, was aimed at developing young people on the rudiments of government processes.

The Commissioner assured that ministry of Youth development will engage all stakeholders as it prepares to unveil more empowerment and developmental programs.
