Coalition of Itsekiri Pressure Groups Has Condemned Comr. Emiko Oghomienor for His Incitetful Statements and Disrespect against the Monarch of Warri Kingdom.
The Coalition of Itsekiri pressure Group have strongly condemned the disrespectful comments and inciteful statements against the prestigious monarch of Warri Kingdom, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri in a press statement yesterday. It is completely preposterous that Emiko Oghomienor, who is not even a youth and a known antagonist to the throne is saying that the king doesn’t have right to discuss issues or even dissolve the executives of Itsekiri National Youth Council (INYC) i.e the apex youth body of Itsekiri nation.
Thus, the leadership of Itsekiri pressure groups has come forward to express their strong disapproval and disaffection of elders assuming roles designated for the youth, particularly individuals over the age of 45. The Itsekiri Youth’s pressure group believe that a body tasked with representing the entirety of the youth population within the Warri Kingdom should operate under a functional constitution and that any lack thereof deems the organization unfit to carry out its duties effectively. The executives of the apex Itsekiri youth based group in Warri Kingdom was dissolved by the Olu of Warri because of gross misconduct of the council and lack of a functioning working constitution. The king after dissolving the executives set up a committee in the palace of the Olu of Warri from NAIG and NAIS to work on a brand new constitution for the INYC in three months before a new leadership emerges.
However, the said INYC Board of Trustees has reportedly lost control of the organization, with allegations that the leadership has been using it for personal and political gains. The most recent congress held by the former INYC president Comr Godwin Utienyin a.k.a Odudukele was met with opposition from various factions within the organization, highlighting the internal strife that has plagued the group due to the absence of a clear governing framework (constitution). This strife took place in the Palace of the Olu of Warri.
It is evident that the marginalized youth members are demanding a more equitable representation within the leadership, contrary to the current dominance of elders council members who ordinaryly should be palace Chief. The involvement of Comr Oghomienor Emiko in thwarting the advancement of the Itsekiri youths has raised concerns about ulterior motives and stunted growth opportunities for youths. It is clear that the said Emiko Oghomienor is one of the major problems of the INYC that is why he is disregarding the good decision of the Olu of Warri.
In contrast to other ethnicities where individuals of a similar age to Emiko Oghomienor hold esteemed positions as Chiefs or Council members, the Itsekiri youth feel sidelined and overlooked. The Olu of Warri stated that the age bracket to be tagged as a youth in Warri Kingdom is from between (18-40). This age issue is the major reason why Emiko Oghomienor who has passed the age of a youth is reacting negatively to the positive decision of the king.
Subsequently, the paramount ruler, Olu of Warri, holds a crucial position in resolving these internal conflicts and ensuring the fair and just representation of all members within the organization. The decision of the Olu of Warri was received by well meaning Itsekiri’s especially youths with excitement as the decision indicates hope and development for Itsekiri youths and the INYC.
In conclusion, Itsekiri youths will not tolerate the disrespectful comments and abominable acts by Emiko Oghomienor or face the wrath of the ancestors of Warri Kingdom. The decision and proclamation of the Olu of Warri is binding and final to all well meaning Itsekiri’s.
