The Governor Of Delta State Rt Elder Sheriff Receives in Audience the Deputy Inspector General of Police in Asaba, in a post made on 22nd of May on the Governors official Facebook page, he states “”today, I received on courtesy visit the Deputy Inspector -General of Police (DIG) in charge of ICT Department, Force Headquarters, DIG Sokari Pedro, who doubles as the Chief Police Officer in-charge of the South-South geopolitical zone in Government House, Asaba .
The visit offered me an opportunity to applaud the Nigeria Police in deploying Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the effective fight against all forms of criminality in our country. This innovation will no doubt help improve effectiveness, efficiency and capacity of the police which ultimately will translate to efficient investigation, intelligence gathering and prosecution of suspects.
Peace and Security is the fourth pillar of my administration’s MORE Agenda, therefore the Delta State government will continue to collaborate with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for the state to remain peaceful.
In course of our discussion,I informed the DIG that this administration had procured some vehicles that would be handed over to the police to enhance operational efficiency and would soon invite the Inspector -General of Police (IGP) for the commissioning of the vehicles””
This has further shown the commitment by the Delta state government on security within the state.
