WPIF Commends Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi for Maintaining Peace and Security in Warri.

The leadership of Warri Political Interest Forum(WPIF), a youth based Itsekiri socio-cultural cum political pressure group in Warri led by Comr. Abugewa Youngreen (President), Comr. Lilywhite Esigbone (Secretary), Comr. Jeffrey Iwerebo (PRO) and Comr. Eboma Tuoyo Michael (Spokesperson) have commended the wisdom of Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi, the Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council for settling the most recent dispute between Agbarha and Okere Communities in the Local Government Area.

The wisdom of Hon. Michael Tidi was reflected in the Security meeting he held in his office last week, alongside Hon. Uroye Oki, member representing Warri South Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Obire, member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Weyinmi Agbateyinro, Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development Delta State and Representatives of Agbarah and Okere Communities were all in attendance. After the Security meeting last week it was resolved that the Wado City Numenclature should be rejected in Warri and it was also resolved that the billboard will be removed.

Moreover, the Executive Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori invited the two conflicting parties to Government House at Asaba. The Governor was represented by the Secretary to the Delta State Government Hon. Kingsley Emu. After series of deliberation at Asaba yesterday, the SSG made the same decision that was made earlier by our amiable Warri South LGA Chairman Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi. The resolution reached at the meeting yesterday includes;

At the meeting all parties resolved to maintain status quo i.e the Secretariat of UPU(Urhobo House) in Okere Community should maintain the address of No.18 Okere Road Warri.

It was also resolved by all and sundry to reject “Wado City” as a nomenclature for naming some parts of Warri.

All parties agreed to live in peace and harmony in the cosmopolitan city of Warri.

The Delta State Government cautioned all parties to adhere to the agreement or face the wrath of the Law.

Subsequently, Okere Community was represented by Hon. Barr. David Oki, Comr. Ameachi Ogbitse Ogbonna and others at the meeting. Agbarha was represented by Destiny Agbadia and others.
Also in attendance was the Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi, the Delta State Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development Comr. Agbateyinro Weyinmi, the Acting President of Itsekiri National Youth Council(INYC) Comr. Godwin Utienyin and the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) Youth Wing President Ughere Blessed.

In conclusion, we appreciate and commend Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi for his continuous effort to ensure that there is peace and Security in Warri South Local Government Area. We pray that God gives in the grace and wisdom to pilot Warri South in a coordinated and peaceful manner.
