Itsekiri Progressive Media Team (IPMT), an Itsekiri based socio-cultural cum social media pressure group in a press statement earlier this morning by its leadership have called on the Delta State Police Command and the inspector general of police to investigate the obnoxious activities of members of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp and Ayiri Emami’s thugs in Okere Community.
It is no longer news that Ayiri Emami and his thugs led by David Iwere, Lucky Esu, Benson Awani and others, after the assassination attempt on the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR in Okere Community have been using men of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp to perpetuate their nefarious activities in the community.
In the midnight of 23rd March and the early morning of 24th March, 2024, Ayiri Emami’s thugs in the company of members of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp invaded Okere Community with guns and cutlasses. The heavily armed Ayiri thugs destroyed properties of Okere indigenes that are not in support of his dubious behavior in Warri Kingdom and even attempted to assassinate them, which eventually led to múltiple injuries.
The said thugs of Ayiri led by David Iwere, Lucky Esu, Benson Awani and others were armed with guns and cutlasses. The surprising part of the attack was that the officers of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp joined Ayiri Emami’s thugs to engage in all of these sinister activities.
Moreover, one Mr. Ebieto Tseyi who is a die hard loyalist of Mr. Ayiri Emami and also a member of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp joined the heavily armed Ayiri thugs to injure innocent Okere indigenes and destroyed their properties.
However, on the night of the 24th of March, 2024 Lucky Esu, Benson Awani, David Iwere and some officers of the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp led by Ebieto Tseye attacked the Interim Youth Chairman of Okere Community Mr. Kelvin Oludewa and others with guns and cutlasses in Okere.
Unfortunately for them, they were overpowered by a large population of youths from the community. Thus, Tseyi Ebieto, ran away from the scene and he left his ID cards, his Anti cult uniform, used ballets and other items. The case has been reported to the police.
Subsequently, from on the 2nd of March 2024 when Ayiri Emami’s thugs attempted to assassinate the king, they have been doing everything within their power to cause multifarious problems in Okere Community. It’s obvious that Ayiri Emami will not rest in making sure he brings down the Warri Kingdom, but his plans to use Okere Community as his base to achieve that aim will not work.
In conclusion, IPMT is calling on the Delta State Police Command, inspector general of police and Federal Government to properly investigate the sinister activities of Mr. Ayiri Emami’s thugs and the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp in Okere Community.
