URGENT APPEAL TO GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF EKUREDE_UGBORI ROADS.

The Executive Governor of
Delta State, Government House,
Asaba,
8th February, 2024.

Dear Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori,

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to you on your recent victory at the Supreme Court, affirming your authority to lead our great state without any distractions. We commend your efforts in transforming Delta State into a construction site, with developmental projects sprouting up across the state. However, we, the residents of Ekurede-Itsekiri and Ugbori communities respectively, are in dire need of the same positive changes in our communities, particularly regarding the deplorable state of the Ekurede Itsekiri road that has severely impacted the economic life of our area.

Currently, the failed spot on the road has resulted in collapsing houses and businesses shutting down. The road has become a hazardous death trap for residents, and despite the state ministry of works conducting physical assessments on two occasions, no progress has been made towards its reconstruction.

We humbly urge the Governor of Delta State to intervene and come to our rescue. The roads around Ekurede Itsekiri and Ugbori are in an equally dismal state, and we implore you to extend the positive energy of your M.O.R.E Agenda to our community as well.

During the recent general election in Delta State, the residents of Ward 4 in Warri South Local Government Council Area, Ekurede Itsekiri and Ugbori communities worked tirelessly for the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, including yourself, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. We kindly request our political leaders, such as Hon. Chief. Thomas Ereyitomi member representing Warri Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ada Val Arenyeka state deputy chairman of the PDP, Hon. Austin Uroye member Delta State House of Assembly Warri South Constituency 1, Hon. Johnson Agbeyegbe The LGA party chairman of the PDP, Hon. Emiko Oghomienor Ward chairman of the PDP and frontline aspirant in the forthcoming LGA election, and Hon. Lori Urowanynor councilor representing the ward in the LGA, to fulfill their promises made during the election and advocate on our behalf for the inclusion of this road in the state’s internal road development projects.

Furthermore, we call upon the Council chairman of Warri South Local Government Area Hon. Dr. Michael Tidi, the leaders of Warri South political family as well as Hon. Griftson Timeyin Omatsuli, Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to the governor who was the DG campaign organization Warri South during the last state elections, to lend their urgent support and voices to the development of Ekurede-Itsekiri and Ugbori community roads. We firmly believe that concerted collective efforts are necessary to fix this road for the betterment of the people we all represent.

Your Excellency, we trust in your leadership and ability to address this pressing issue. We humbly request your prompt intervention to alleviate the suffering of the residents in Ekurede_Ugbori and restore the economic vitality of our community.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Residents of Ekurede_Ugbori
